Headache Pain

How Chiropractic Helps Migraine:

Chiropractic care reduces stress and increases the bodies ability to adapt to stress.

1 Both reducing stress and increasing adaptability to stress will decrease the frequency and intensity of migraine. It has also been proven that chiropractic care helps regulate the immune system.

2 Overactivity of the immune system is one of the functional causes of migraine. Chiropractic care improves brain function and supports the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is one of the bodies mechanisms of detoxification. Chiropractic care also reduces vasospasm, reducing cortical hypoxia and helps support ATP production.

3 Chiropractic care is also very effective at treating tension headache as well as promoting recovery from a recent head trauma or concussion. Both of which are common factors that contribute to migraine pain. When you can determine why a person's body has failed to adapt to the stress it's being put under, then an effective treatment can be given. I take a history that gets the story of your life and everything that has happened to you so I can understand what makes you, you. I do a functional and anatomical exam because some part of the biological function or some part of the anatomical structure is failing to adapt to life. The body is designed to adapt to stress. If the body is no longer able to adapt to stress, the result is symptoms like migraines. I also take a time-line history because if a patient has been treated before for migraines and treatment has been unsuccessful or had mediocre results; it's very likely that something may have been overlooked. If I can find the missing piece of the headache puzzle, the patient has greater success. Then they don't have to continue to worry about migraine headaches or let that affect their life, their job, or their family.
